It has been an exciting and hectic 10 months from the time we were given the green signal by our CEO and CTO to launch a dedicated group focused on turning ideas into new business units for TCS. The canvas was wide -use of innovative technologies, business models, partnerships or perhaps a combination of all of these –to incubate new ideas and to look at areas which could be potential Big Bets for TCS. The new and improved TCS Innovation and TCS COINTM website has been in the works for several months. I trust it will become an enabler for close collaboration between all the entities in the TCS Co-innovation Network – our innovation labs, our leading edge customers and clients, our strategic partners, our academic partners and venture capital firms and their portfolio companies. The notion of open collaboration across the extended enterprise is not new – but when TCS and I started exploring this notion four or five years ago, it certainly looked very difficult to align the ‘selfish interest’ of each member of the network!
