Emerging Technology Partners

The Emerging Technology Partners initiative of TCS COIN^TM is a realization of TCS’ understanding that it is important for an established company to be constantly aware of the ideas at work at start-ups, the niche products they develop, the new markets they help create, and their potential for achieving a breakthrough or “disruptive” innovation and then identify and support those start-ups that show the most promise. Till date, numerous start-ups have been subjected to COIN™’s stringent de-risking processes and been involved in the development of innovative solutions for TCS and its customers.

Our startup engagements are geographically well distributed, with partners in the United States, Europe, and Asia and focus on new and exciting technology areas such as Data Centre Optimization Solutions, On Demand Distributed Software Development Solutions, and Compliance Cost Reduction Solutions.

Academic Alliances

The COIN^TM academic collaboration initiatives are key drivers to the innovation at TCS. TCS engages with select COIN^TM academic partners through large-scale, long-term commitments that offer TCS with an access to an enviable academic/research talent, in addition to the sheer creative expanse of academic research.

TCS has established global academic alliances and R & D collaboration initiatives. These alliances provide a rewarding research context and are conferred extensive freedom that allows for an intellectual breeding ground protected from business pressures. TCS’ academic alliances have granted TCS with timely access to future-ready technologies and business expertise.

TCS connects to academic institutions in the following different ways:

·We confer funding for research activities, most of which are based on fundamental and applied sciences that have the potential to realize long-term benefits to TCS and its customers.

·We provide opportunities to TCS employees who wish to take a sabbatical and work with university departments that are engaged in advanced research in various fields.

·We invite researchers from the academia to work as interns or engage them on specific projects under the purview of the TCS Innovation Labs. We also sponsor/host various research-centric events (conferences/workshops/visits) and actively promote academic /research publications.

As part of TCS COIN^TM, we have forged strong strategic partnerships with many of the world's foremost technology and services providers such as Intel, SAP, HP, Cisco, Sun, and EMC to deliver an extensive range of customer solutions. These alliances go beyond the purview of mere marketing alliances, and are treated as true co-innovation partnerships through which we collaborate through each of our individual expertise and co-create solutions for the future.

Venture Capital Funds

TCS COIN^TM engages with global venture capital houses, fund managers, and their respective portfolio companies to deliver next-generation solutions to its customers. TCS appreciates that fact that well-directed venture capitalism holds the key to some of the most innovative technologies out there, and that venture capitalists are an invaluable lever in the functional chain of innovation. TCS COIN^TM strives to create a global ecosystem that can enable a collaborative common ground for venture capital firms, start-up firms, and investment opportunities across technology sectors. This common ground allows TCS to offer an appropriate set of solutions to a highly specific set of collaboration requirements.
