TCS Innovation Forum 2012 – NA brings together customers and partners on key research themes
TCS Innovation Forum 2012 - North America, the annual innovation event organized by TCS in North America, was held on May 15th & 16th in Boston, MA. The event, which drew a full house from researchers and thought leaders in academia, venture capitalists, analysts, emerging technology companies and some COIN™ partners, as well as key customers, covered areas that are of increasing significance for global organizations. Speakers from many organisatons including Nielsen, Amazon Web Services, Attivio, RSA, MetricStream as well as TCS participated in these discussions.
Inaugurating the event TCS Chief Technology Officer K. Ananth Krishnan spoke about the TCS’ model of Innovation for Business, its research programmes, its processes of invention & innovation, its "4E-Model" (Explore, Enable, Evangelize, Exploit), and key innovation themes. Presentations were made by TCS leaders from research and business on efficiency & agility, big data, mobility, digital customer experience, life sciences, green, security and more. The closing note by Prof V S Subrahmanian, University of Maryland, was on analyzing massive social networks.
A showcase of demos from COIN™ partners and in-house innovation offerings such as Performance Engineering Tools, Green IT, Mobility, and social media tools was organized to provide hands-on experience to the participants. CrowdWise™, a collaborative offering from TCS and Siegel+Gale to monitor brand perception on social media networks, was launched at the event.

Dr Pradip elected to the National Academy of Engineering, USA
Dr Pradip P, Chief Scientist and Head, TCS Innovation Labs – TRDDC (Process Engineering) Pune, has been elected as a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), USA. He is among the 66 new members and 10 Foreign Associates elected to the NAE.
The Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to “engineering research, practice, or education, including significant contribution to the engineering literature and to the pioneering of new developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education".
Dr Pradip's main areas of research include particle science & technology, mineral processing, nanotechnology, design and development of performance chemicals based on molecular modeling, applied surface and colloid chemistry, mathematical modeling & simulation of particulate processing systems, colloidal processing of advanced ceramics, waste recycling and cement chemistry. He has many awards to his credit.
